Back from Bangkok

Hey all!

Sorry I couldn't post anything from Bangkok, as blogger just would not load at all.

Wow! It's been an incredible last week and I'm not sure where to start. I want to include photos of my trip, so I'll wait to start my detailed daily diary until I get those uploaded.

The entire trip was fabulous from start until finish...well almost finish...because I get to the Big City airport and somehow, they lost my luggage between there and Chicago. ARGH! It's supposed to be couriered sometime late tonight.

It was a week of getting soaked at SongKran (the Thai new year celebration), shopping the world's largest outdoor market, speeding down the streets in a taxi/tuk-tuk/or motorbike, taking in some incredible ladyboy (drag) shows, or enjoying fresh pineapple and mango...in a word...probably the best time in my life for experience new things.

Sean was one heck of a tour guide. With a detailed itinerary that we followed about half the time, he led me on a whirlwind tour around the city, which included stops like the SkyBar, atop a 64 story hotel, with simply breathtaking views...visits to the Grand Palace to see the Emerald Buddha, and to Wat Po to see the Reclining Buddha...Sean offered great insight into what Bangkok has to offer.

I thoroughly enjoyed two Thai massages, as well as many other highlights from the week. All of which you'll hear about in the coming weeks.

As for now, it's bedtime...11:22 here at home on Tuesday night. Which means it's 11:22 AM Wednesday in Bangkok.

I've missed you all and I hope the past week has found you well.

Till next time...
