Random

Ok totally random thoughts, but I thought I'd post a post to not skip two whole days.

On Thursday I was picking up lunch at a soup and sandwich chain place, and got a pleasant surprise. My job has me dealing with the public on a fairly regular basis, so I occasionally get recognized when I'm out and about. After ordering my soup and sandwich, I added a bagel and cream cheese (bad I know) and the very nice cashier didn't charge me for the cream cheese. Ok, it was only like 1 dollar saved, but still, it's the thought that counts. The cashier smiled and said "W" this one's on me. So I smiled back and thanked him profusely. Just call me a honey walnut cream cheese whore.

Today I got some bad news. The local Pier 1 store is closing in February. Sad that I won't be able to purchase overpriced, poorly made home furnishings. However, their candles are pretty decent. A look around my apt, and it's mostly furnished from the Pier. I also got a really nice giftcard from the ex for Christmas to Pier 1. Second part of the problem, I went in this evening to look around for some idea of what to use it for...and couldn't really find anything I needed. Plus, all my shopping for others was done last week, so I didn't need to use the giftcard on someone else. I considered a lamp for the bedroom, but it's too modern for the 'Asian blue' and chocolate brown theme. The silver finish just won't work.

Then I wanted to get some new panels for the living room window, but the ones I liked had circles on them...and the living room is all about lines and stripes and angles. (the red ones on the left)

Anyhoo...I guess I'll wait to see if they have any after Christmas sales and look again.

Catch you kids later!

I'll just add "honey walnut cream cheese" to my current nickname for you and we'll be all set. :)

You could always send the card to me. I'm sure I could find something to buy.

(Hope you had a great Christmas and got everything you asked Santa for.)
