Turkey Lurkey

Ok...so it's Thursday night...long day at work...not much to blog about...sooo...

Let's play Lurker Shout Out!

I seem to have a few regulars, very random one timers ( i feel so cheap and used...eh...not really), and there's one that's a loyal lurker.

Not sure if it's someone from a government agency spying on a Midwestern 'Mo or what...but they're from Reston, VA.

Here's what I found on wikipedia (not always reliable) but good enough for me.

Reston is a planned community and an unincorporated census-designated place located in western Fairfax County, Virginia in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Community services are provided by the Reston Association. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 56,407. Although Reston is not a city and does not have a traditional central business district, the Reston Town Center is becoming a focal point for business and transportation connections within the community, with several high-rise office buildings, restaurants, a cinema, a hotel, and shops. Reston also straddles the booming Dulles Technology Corridor and is home to the world headquarters of three Fortune 500 corporations, (NVR, Sprint Nextel, Sallie Mae), as well as the United States Geological Survey and the National Wildlife Federation.

Reston is one of just a handful of communities in the U.S. that has been designated a backyard wildlife habitat community. Usually this designation is for single homes.
(see Reston Timeline)

Guiding principles
From the beginning Reston was designed to follow "guiding principles" in its development that would stress quality of life. Citizens would be able to live in the same community while going through different life cycles with different housing needs as they age. It was hoped that Restonians could live, work, and have recreation in their own community, with common grounds and scenic beauty shared equally regardless of income level.

Anyhoo...there's your-I-don't-have-a-post-so-I'll-call-out-some-faithful-reader-that-I'll-probably-scare-off-for-calling-them-out.

I have someone from Arlington, Virginia who googles my name several times in a row and finds me through keyword search (ever heard of bookmarking? DUH.)

Perhaps we are both 'mo's under the magnifying glass...

I get a lot from Reston. I think it's one of those locations that AOL or something filters thru.

Yes Reston Virginia is what comes through if they connect via AOL. That is how I managed not to notice that my ex-wife was reading the blog.

Six is correct. :)

Thanks so much for the post because now through these comments I finally have an answer. I couldn't figure out why I would get so many people from Reston at one time on my site. There was one day I had 5 people on at the same time all from Reston, now I know why. Thanks again.

I had this one person (I'm assuming it was a chick) that for a little over 2 months came to my site every day, sometimes several times a day but never commented, and then about 3 weeks ago they just stopped. Haven't seen them again since. So they either decided I was just too damn boring to stick around or something happened. I actually worried about them for a little while until I decided I just didn't keep their interest anymore for whatever reason. Heh

I think those Virginia people are spying on me too, lol. And for some weird reason, I seem be be attracting something of an audience from Malaysia, of all places.

Ooooh, I just noticed that I now rank as a "Cool Blog Bud." Yay for me!!!! I am honored :o)
