And This Too Shall Pass...

Hey all!

Lots of stuff to catch up on from the weekend...

We'll start with Gal Pal. She had a rough last few days in the hospital because of a kidney stone. I visited her Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, she seemed in good spirits, despite the pain. I went to see her this morning after cycling class, but she already left...stone still inside her. I told her Saturday night don't worry, "This too shall pass."

I also talked with a former co-worker last night and got quite a surprise! He lives out west now, but told me he was in Boston. I asked what he was doing there and he replied, "Oh, some guy bought me a plane ticket to come see him." I said "some guy?"...he says "Yup, I kiss boys now." Well you could have knocked me over with a feather. He wasn't necessarily 'masculine' acting, but he always dated and sexed up the women when I knew him. Anyhoo, he's wanting me to transfer to where he works because "my supervisor loves the gays and there's a job opening up soon." Sounds tempting, but I'm not a fan of 115 degree weather. The timing is about right, so who knows???

Saturday I ate anything in front of my face. Seriously! Major food fest...and to top it all off...I had a lobsterita from Red Lobster. I said it before, I'll say it again. Any alcoholic beverage glass you can stick your whole face in...has to be good for you.

A quick update on my nephew, Zach. The last two weekends, he's been away from my sister and brother in law, because his birth father got permission for weekend visitation. Last weekend was the first time Zach had ever spent the night away...so it was very hard on all of them. What's frustrating is that my mom went and copied the file for Zach's case, and we found where the birthdad signed a termination of parental rights form back when Zach was just one month old. His birthmom also signed her TPR shortly after. So why is the case reopened? Good question. It's very frustrating.

Anyway, not to end on a sour note...but remember if you're having a rough patch or a bad day. "This too shall pass!"

I hope your Gal Pal is feeling better by now...kidney stones suck, bigtime.
And I totally agree that "any alcoholic beverage glass you can stick your whole face in" has to be good for you, lol :o)
Do they give you those little mardi gras-type beads with the plastic lobster attached, as they do at the Red Lobsters around here? My daughter loves to use them for dress up...particularly when her pretend play is SpongeBob-themed. Maybe Zach would like them?

Is this ex-co-worker the same guy you've mentioned to me before? That was a pretty quick change of heart into a buy-me-a-ticket relationship already, wasn't it?

And it was good to catch up again last night -- better than old times.

And is the job in PHX? If it was, I'd have to hate you -- long story.

Had no idea about Zach. Poor little guy! Hope things get better for him...and for all of you. I'm not so sure about 115 degrees either. But today, it would feel great!

MQB: Yes, the usually have the beads, but mine didn't Saturday night.

Kev: Hmm...no not the same co-worker, but he sent a text asking me to be his big brother. I think he was high. Last night was fun...giggles.

Kev: Not PHX, further south, think airport code TUS (not TUC, which makes more sense)

Lewis: Yeah...adoptions can be tricky. The whole state of KY's Dept of Fam and Kids is under investigation by everyone (AG, Auditor, etc etc). And yes a warmup would feel good. IT was 50's here last week, now it's in the teens...at least the rain stopped. I looked online and it was chilly for AZ today too.

Which one asked you to be his big brother?

And yes it was.

My sympathies to GalPal -- I've kidney stones 4 times and they hurt like a mother.

Regarding the work dilemma: you'll make the right decision, I have faith.

I find it reprehensible when someone decides to give up a child and then decide they want him/her back after a few years. And any judge that would grant visitation with said TPR in the file should have his ass kicked off the bench.

Kev: Old coworker who came out on Sunday and lives out West.

Dirk: I'll 'pass' along your sympathies...I can't imagine the pain, nor do I want to. I'm not worried about the work situation...if 'whatever, wherever' happens, it'll happen and I'll know. And yeah..it just shows how F***ed up our court system is. If you're old enough to have sex and make a baby, you're old enough to make adult decisions and face the consequences. Plus it's the guys parents who want the kid, not him, although they signed papers saying that's not the case.
